Lately, the weather has been so GORGEOUS and I’ve been walking the girls over to the beach. It’s only a few blocks from where we live. Rough life, I know..don’t hate!
Anyway, most of the time I only have enough hands to shoot some pics w/my iPhone and it kills me not to use my ‘good’ camera. Well, “YAY” for long weekends when the hubs doesn’t have to work! I’ve been telling him every day how amazing the beach is, so we took a little family walk and of course, I brought my camera. I really couldn’t ask for a more perfect time spent together. The clouds were to die for, the light = yummy and everyone looked extra cute.
I shot all these (except for the ones of me and my girls…those were shot by my man) digital and processed with VSCO Film. Oh man…IN LOVE! I know I’ve been posting a bunch of pics of my kids, but it gives me a good excuse to work on my ‘craft’. I still have to practice photography! Getting the correct exposure in the camera and not spending a lot of time in Photoshop. Believe it or not, I hate sitting behind my computer in Photoshop. To me, photography is what my eye sees when I look through my camera. Training my eye to see the composition is always my challenge. I LOVE composition. I LOVE telling a story. I LOVE when an image makes me feel something. I LOVE the ability to be creative and shoot for myself without trying to please someone else. This year I’m trying (“trying” is the key word here..) not to look at other photographer’s work and try to be like them. Don’t get me wrong, I love to be inspired by photographs. But I tend to compare myself to others and in the end, feel like my pictures suck and ultimately I’m not good enough.
All the pictures I post here in this post and on my blog mean something to me. They’re pictures that I love for one reason or another.
