I really can’t believe it’s been half a year since you blessed us with your adorable presence. Time has really flown by and I can imagine living life without you in it. You are the sweetest and happiest baby with an easy-going and fun personality. You love being tickled and kissed and especially love to pull my hair, but I don’t mind because you’re exploring the world around you. My heart aches sometimes during your nap or when you’re sleeping at night because I miss holding you and kissing you and smelling you and making you giggle and smile. Being your mommy is such a blessing that I don’t ever want to take for granted. You are truly a gift from God and I get to hang out with you every day.
My prayer for you, little Cate, as you continue to explore your world and grow in your first year of life, is that the Lord will keep you safe. Safe from physical harm as you learn to crawl and roll around. Safe from emotional harm and that your feelings won’t be hurt too bad. Safe from spiritual harm and that the Lord will give me and your daddy wisdom and guidance to teach you about becoming just like Jesus.
